Carrollton Community Unit School District No. 1 originally had some 7th and 8th grade students in the original 1893 and 1927 buildings that had been in need of repair for some time. The problem was that the boiler system for the entire campus of buildings was housed there. Architechnics, Inc. designed a system that provides for the replacement building, and a new Middle School Addition to the 1960 and 1993 buildings. This new mechanical system will be located in the new building and ‘back feed” all the remaining infrastructure. This innovative approach to engineering has opened up creative architectural possibilities.
